Gender Base Violence (GBV) is a profound and widespread problem in South Africa, impacting on almost every aspect of life e.g.: Emotionally, financially, mentally, physically and spiritually. GBV not only affects females but males as well, hence it’s called GBV regardless of age, status or titles
Due to a lack of GBV cases being reported or help being seeked for whatever reason whether it be fear, shame, stigma, depression, feeling powerless, our community is being filled with people who are no longer living but existing and people are putting band-aids on wounds that needs surgery.  Our children are not doing well at school and we blaming teachers but in actual fact in some cases it’s a psychological problem.
Denial and a lack of knowledge of GBV leads to emotional, social and psychological consequences, such as low self- esteem, post, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, suicidal thoughts even death. You are not alone, support and help are out there, all you need is to reach out. Let’s win back our community or children’s future.
